Frequently Asked Questions

What is a fursuit maker database?

A fursuit maker database is a searchable collection of fursuit makers and their commission information. It helps people compare makers, styles, prices, and availability in one place.

What is a fursuit maker directory?

A fursuit maker directory is a list of makers organized so users can browse them more easily. It is useful for finding artists, studios, and commission options without searching all over social media.

How do I find a fursuit maker for a commission?

Start by checking maker examples, commission status, style, budget, and region. A directory makes this faster by grouping makers in one searchable place.

Where can I find trusted fursuit makers?

Trusted fursuit makers are usually found through directories, verified portfolios, community recommendations, and clear commission info. Looking at past work and communication style is a good way to judge fit.

How do I compare fursuit makers?

You can compare makers by style, price range, turnaround time, materials, location, and whether they are open for commissions. A good database makes these differences easy to see.

How much does a custom fursuit cost?

The cost of a custom fursuit can vary widely depending on the maker, the complexity of the design, and whether you want a fullsuit, partial, or more detailed build. Prices often change based on materials, labor, and customization.

How long does a fursuit commission take?

Turnaround time depends on the maker’s queue, the complexity of the suit, and the number of commissions they already have. Some projects take a few months, while others can take much longer.

Can I search makers by style, budget, or location?

Yes. That is one of the biggest advantages of a fursuit maker database. Being able to search by style, budget, or location helps people find the right maker much faster.

Why was IWantaFursuit created?

IWantaFursuit was created to make finding and commissioning fursuit makers easier, safer, and more accessible.

While other maker directories already existed, our goal was never to simply create another list of makers. We want to build a platform focused on helping both clients and makers have a better and safer commission experience.

In the future, we plan to introduce systems designed to reduce scams, improve trust, and make the commissioning process more secure for everyone involved.

Right now, we are still a growing project and do not yet have the resources to implement all the features we envision. However, this directory is the first step toward that larger goal.
